Earlier this year I was invited to the Trendii Mastermind group and experienced one month of intensive goal setting. When subscribing to to the goal setting program, I really didn’t have any clue on what it would do or bring me. Looking back it did give me a lot of insight in my daily patterns. It even brought me to a deeper insight that I will share with you here. But first about the Trendii Mastermind program. What does it do, and why does it help you. Yes you, even you!
Trendii Mastermind program
The Trendii Mastermind is all about helping you achieve the goals you have set for yourself. Following this 3 step process

After setting a personal goal, mine was to be more sportive and loose weight, you fill in a daily chart that consist of:
- healthy living
My experience with the Trendii Mastermind program
Although I have Google planner and a paper agenda, and my fridge is full of notes that remind me of what I have to do the coming weeks, setting goals daily and for a longer term wasn’t really my routine. In the first week, whilst gathering courage to put myself on video and describe my goal for the coming weeks, had me really thinking of what I wanted to achieve on the short term and longer term. To fill in our planning we used software called Hall.
The filling in of the small daily goals were easy to do. I didn’t set them too high so I could enjoy little accomplishments to encourage me at the start. My main goal was to loose weight so my small goals would consist of cooking a proper lunch each day and fill in what kind of exercise I would do each day. That same month garden season started so I could easily combine the exercise part with cleaning up my garden. Also doing household would be part of exercise which really made me enjoy doing household chores more. My planning would start with meditation in the early morning, then the exercise part after bring the kids to school and BEFORE I would sit down at my computer. I didn’t allow myself to sit behind my computer before 9:30 am which worked really great because:
- my house was clean before I went to work (webdesign)
- I felt fit before sitting down
- I felt like I accomplished something I’d postpone more when the day proceeds
The creativity part of the Trendii Mastermind was the easiest part for me because hey, that’s what I do as a webdesigner. Also I am crafting with a bunch of kids each Wednesday so no lack of creativity here.
What the Trendii Mastermind made me aware of
The weeks of planning and sharing our progress and goal setting videos in a small ans safe group really opened up a new world for me. I didn’t realize goal setting is more than just think about what you want in life. Really writing your goals down, speak about them in a video and then plan the things you have to do to accomplish them is what it takes. The daily routines I set for myself soon became a habit.
There was just one thing that was staying undone in my planning. For a year or more I had planned (in my head, that’s why I dreamed about it instead of doing it) moving my website to another server and start blogging more. It became painfully clear to me that, although I knew it would only take me a few hours to move and redesign my website, I couldn’t get it checked as ‘done’ in my planning. For the weeks the Trendii Mastermind was lasting, I was VERY busy doing other peoples work and looking at the mistakes OTHER people were making on their websites, which kept on distracting me from my own website. Even though I felt good and fit for accomplishing all my small goals, I still felt I hadn’t accomplished the one thing that I really wanted to finish for myself. And that is, this website.
A few weeks later I did mange to restyle and move my website, just in time for the new series of Trendii Mastermind is starting. I am very happy to be part of it again.
